Germany’s Proholzfenster wood window industry association (BPH) will be running a large-scale group pavilion at Stand C34 in Hall 17 at LIGNA 2011 (30 May to 3 June). Themed “Timber and timber/aluminum windows – good for everyone!”, the pavilion will profile the benefits of using wood in window frames. The key message is that the latest generation of timber and timber/aluminum frame windows is extremely energy efficient, helps prevent climate change and leads the way in functionality and design. The message will be backed by displays of the latest window developments by a large number of BPH members. It is a fascinating show that plots the transition from traditional window construction to modern, sustainable building components.
But how do you get from the tree in the ground to hi-tech building components? To answer this question, BPH will be enlisting the support of timber suppliers and tool, machinery and paint manufacturers to demonstrate the wood window life cycle, from forest, to window scantling production, to profile machining and surface finishing, right through to the finished window.
The slogan “good for everyone!” relates not just to the benefits of wood and wood/aluminum windows in terms of climate protection, energy conservation and the inherent charm of wood surfaces. “Good for everyone!” also captures the viewpoint of window manufacturers, those creative, conscientious producers who take pride in using natural wood materials to make beautiful, quality windows – an art that is in increasingly hot demand at the moment.
As always, the BPH stand will be a vibrant meeting hub for window manufacturers and suppliers, planners and industry and trade associations. It will offer ample room and scope for networking and knowledge sharing.
