The new LIGNA Talents competition for school-age students.
During LIGNA 2011, students will form teams to compete against each other in a number of disciplines. Professionals will provide support and direction as the students create video clips and publish an online show newspaper.
Other teams will write CNC programs and test the results on machinery at the show. In this way, LIGNA will provide young people with a new, in-depth insight into how the renewable resource wood is processed, giving the youngsters the opportunity to gain their own impression of the industry. Industry experts will assess what the young talented individuals have produced and present attractive prizes for the best results. The intended message during all of these activities is that the industry is an attractive place to work and offers good career opportunities.
