This year, for the very first time, LIGNA will have a dedicated display area for surface technology (in previous years, these exhibits have been part of the "Furniture Industry”" area). The Surface Technology display area will be strategically located in Hall 17, right at the interface between the wood-based panel manufacturing and finishing technology exhibits.

The displays will include solutions for all kinds of sanding and polishing processes, film coating, profile wrapping and digital and direct printing. The Surface Technology showcase spans a diverse array of surface finishing solutions, from handheld spray guns for tradespeople right to single-pass digital printing machines for industrial-scale manufacturers.

Today, thanks to the latest liquid coatings, application processes and manufacturing technologies, the range of decorative finishes and surface textures achievable for furniture and prefabricated components is virtually unlimited. High-gloss, matt, 3D-effect, metallic, and concrete-effect are just the beginning. It’s an exciting, fast-evolving market, and this year’s LIGA has it covered. In the Surface Technology display area, visitors will find a wealth of solutions for digitalized, integrated manufacturing, including rapid color-change systems that give spray-painting machines the flexibility and power of custom and mass production.

Here’s a quick overview of the theme areas covered:

  • multifunction spay-paint stations / compact modular spray-painting units
  • spray robots
  • intuitive automatic control systems
  • powder coating systems and solutions
  • wet coating technologies
  • direct printing
  • digital printing
  • inkjet technology
  • RFID readers (visitors should also check out the " RFID Factory " showcase in Hall 11)
  • Calander Coating Inert (CCI) technology for the production of high-gloss finishes
  • Hot-Coating Impress Touch process
  • heated hose systems for optimal paint spraying at any outdoor temperature
  • adhesives, furniture varnishes and paints, parquet varnishes, specialty paints, stains, natural oils, waxes
  • furniture varnishes and paints, parquet varnishes, specialty paints, and stains for wood and plastics
  • natural oils and waxes made from renewable materials
