Exhibiting manufacturers at LIGNA 2017 will be showing that machines for working wood can also be used for other types of material, in particular plastics, composite board materials, insulation and other panel products. In this role they have many applications in caravan and boat building, fitting out the interiors of vehicles, ships and aircraft, and also for the packaging of plastics. The processing of plastics and composites in joinery and cabinet-making workshops is another important aspect.
Partner: Institute for Machine Tools at the University of Stuttgart (IfW) and Information Point "Processing of Plastics and Composites" (PPC)
Hall 27, Stand B43
At the Information Point "Processing of Plastics and Composites" (PPC), the Institute for Machine Tools (IfW) at the University of Stuttgart will be showing various objects and workpieces made from plastics and fibre composites which have been manufactured on machine tools equipped with tooling for cutting and machining wood. Also on display at the stand will be various calibration systems designed to analyze and optimize machine tools, tooling and anufacturing processes. A further attraction for visitors will be the presentation of current IfW research projects, with opportunities to discuss the projects and their findings with the stand personnel.
In the visitor information you can find details of exhibitors at LIGNA who will be highlighting the many alternative uses of woodworking machines for the processing of plastics and composites – with the aid of live machine demonstrations and product samples. Exhibitors are listed in this catalogue under four separate headings:
- To oling
- Surface finishing/Coating
