Hannover. 2011 is a LIGNA year, and the wood industry is doing extremely well, with sales and new order figures looking very healthy. Unfortunately, the cost of raw materials and supplies is also on the rise. This is putting pressure on margins, prompting manufacturers to look for ways of making cost savings in their production operations. For many of these companies, the solution lies in a systematic reengineering of their processes to boost energy efficiency.

Manufacturing today is about much more than speed. "Making more out of wood", the official motto for LIGNA 2011, encapsulates the decisive competitive factors of the future: less waste, improved resource efficiency and higher end-product quality.
