In 2011, Germany will be the central meetingplace of the global furniture and wood industries. No less than two trade shows will offer experts from the woodworking and wood processing industry and the furniture industry a comprehensive market overview of material, design and technology trends. The first event will be interzum in Cologne, which runs from 25 to 28 May 2011. Focusing on topics, materials and design, it is the world’s largest trade show for the furniture and interior design industries. It will be followed by LIGNA in Hannover from 30 May to 3 June 2011.

LIGNA is the world’s leading marketplace for the entire forestry and wood industry. Both trade fairs take place biennially, thereby offering visitors the chance to attend two major industry events within one trip. For trade visitors from abroad in particular, this makes Germany a highly attractive destination. Koelnmesse in Cologne and Deutsche Messe in Hannover are separated by just 300 kilometres of motorway or a two-and-a-half-hour train ride.

Deutsche Messe AG and Koelnmesse GmbH are therefore cooperating closely for the second time in order to promote and publicize both events. Foreign visitors can enjoy a wealth of benefits, including special packages for obtaining tickets. They also save time and money by visiting two leading events during just one trip. Exhibitors can take advantage of this added value by encouraging customers from outside Germany to attend both events.
