The nine musketeers!

The new Cordless Alliance System (CAS) brings together numerous companies to deliver a battery system that is compatible with tools and machinery from Metabo, Mafell, Starmix and six other manufacturers. The new partners' portfolio already covers around 110 power tools - and the list is set to grow.

It seems like battery-powered tools have been around since forever and, with more than 30 years of experience in the field, Metabo is at the forefront of innovation for the “cordless construction site”. However, there has until now been one major drawback to cordless technology - a complete lack of compatibility, with every manufacturer doing its own thing. It doesn't take long for professional users to amass a cumbersome stockpile of various batteries and chargers. But all that is set to change thanks to the Cordless Alliance System (CAS), a manufacturer-independent battery system based on Metabo technology that brings together leading power tool brands with one declared aim: One battery pack for all - from a simple drill to exotic specialist machinery.

Based on the best-performing battery system in the industry worldwide, CAS has nine equal partners behind it. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Metabo, as the initiator, are Rothenberger, Mafell, Eisenblätter, Collomix, Haaga, Starmix, Eibenstock and Steinel. A special CAS logo appears on battery packs alongside the manufacturer logo so users can identify the batteries and chargers using the new system, which are 100 percent compatible with each other. There are already 110 different models that can run on the CAS battery, and many more are set to follow. What’s more, other manufacturers that are not yet part of CAS are more than welcome to come on board.
