World premier of the Combi-WR4 multidirectional pedestrian reach truck
Combilift is premiering its new Combi-WR4 Walkie Reach - the first multidirectional pedestrian reach truck that the company has launched - at this year's Ligna. "Following feedback from Combilift customers in the DIY and timber sector which indicated the need for a smaller capacity unit to handle lighter loads, we responded by developing the Combi-WR4," says Combilift MD Martin McVicar.
"This very compact and manoeuvrable machine, our smallest model to date, handles palletised material as well as longer loads such as packs of timber or laminate in very confined areas and offers numerous advantages in terms of safer operations where the general public and employees may be present," adds Martin.
Incorporating the benefits of AC technology in its traction, pump and steering motors, this reach stacker has a lift height of 4.2m and a load capacity of 1,450kg. With electronic power steering, pantograph and side shift functions it is the only pedestrian reach stacker which can work in an aisle-width of 2m pallet to pallet.
The multi-position tiller (patent pending) incorporates push button rotation of the rear wheel parallel to the chassis for placing and picking in the aisle. This enables the operator to remain at the side of the truck rather than at the rear, improving forward visibility. The risk of incidents in tight and / or narrow aisles is reduced as the operator is not positioned between the racking and the truck. In order to rotate the rear wheel parallel to the tiller the operator merely needs to push the button again. 2-speed operation is controlled by a rabbit/turtle switch, and speeds can also be adjusted or customised to suit the level of the operator's experience.
