In cyclones, the majority of the material is extracted from the crude gas and separated in the collection tank after introduction of the centrifugal force. In the event of high material loads in the crude gas, a cyclone can be used as a pre-separator prior to a filter system. This increases the service life of the filter medium.
Basically, cyclones do not require maintenance, and are thus very cheap to operate. However, there is no residual dust guarantee for cyclones.
The CLA type cyclone is designed for use with large quantities of air (185.000m³/h) at relatively low pressure (up to 200mbar)
The CDL type cyclone is designed for use with smaller quantities of air (18.000m³/h) at high pressure (800mbar).
