This round wood sorting and transporting car for the sorting of long wood was first designed by Baljer & Zembrod for the use in medium size and small size saw mills.
Thanks to our experience and know-how, which we could gain for more than 30 years in this field and in co-operation with over 1,600 producing plants, we now have developed and designed the round wood handling car (RUW), which is especially suitable for the quick handling of round wood.
This new electric driven rail car for the handling and sorting of round wood offers the following advantages: The operator may concentrate completely on the sorting, as the routing on the rails is set. This saves time and consequently reduces operating expenses. Moreover, the costs for power consumption and maintenance of electric driven vehicles are considerably lower than e.g. for diesel driven appliances.
For the one-shift-work the possible handling capacity realized by this round wood handling car amounts now up to 200,000 m3 solid measure of timber per year.
