We introduced tim-of-flight spectroscopy to clarify the optical characteristics of wood. The device mainly consist of semiconductor laser and streak camera.Attention was paid to the variation of the single pulsed laser in a short time domain to observe the real light absorption/scattering conditions in wood. These basic data will be essential to construct precise nondestructive measurement of wood for detecting inner information due to lack, know, etc. with considerable thickness. The main concern of the laboratory is to research and develop new optical measurement system and mechanical engineering process for utilization of forest and agricultural products.
