Here you'll find all questions and answers around LIGNA and Covid-19.
FAQs about LIGNA
LIGNA.21 scheduled for this year from September 27 to October 1 will not take place in this year. The continuing high level of infection worldwide in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the slow national and international progress on vaccination and thus the continuing existence of travel restrictions makes it impossible to plan and organize a physical presence on site in Hannover at the world's leading trade show for world's leading trade show for woodworking and wood processing plant, machinery and tools.
Trade shows like LIGNA, which are characterized by a very high level of internationality on both sides, amongst exhibitors as well as visitors, and where large facilities up to entire machine parks are set up have a long planning period. In close consultation with the VDMA Woodworking Machinery, we have therefore decided to cancel LIGNA in order to give our customers the necessary planning security.
Unfortunately, for the first time in its 35-year history, we will not be able to organize LIGNA in Hannover. LIGNA's unique selling point is live demonstrations of tools, machinery and equipment, up to complete production lines. This is what LIGNA stands for and this is what makes up the brand essence of the event. Another postponement makes no sense in view of the innovation cycles of the companies and in view of the next LIGNA, which will take place again in May 2023.
Alternatively, we will offer a digital networking and content platform along our focus topics in September this year. We are also planning the Rosenheim LIGNA.Conference in early summer 2022.
The next LIGNA will be held from May 15 to 19, 2023. We are now focusing on planning and preparing the LIGNA in May 2023 as the next regular show date as another international and innovative trade show and having this live experience with technology to discover, to touch and to try out, back in Hannover.
LIGNA will remain the driving force for the international woodworking and processing industry. From 27 to 29 September 2021, together with the VDMA Woodworking Machinery we will organise a digital event – the LIGNA.Innovation Network (LIGNA.IN) – that focuses on the leading topics of LIGNA.
Furthermore together with the Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences we will stage the first LIGNA.Conference in Rosenheim from 1 to 2 June 2022, which also delivers an in-depth look at the key topics of LIGNA. For both event formats, we are incorporating the many new insights and positive experiences from the recently hosted HANNOVER MESSE Digital Edition.
The digital event LIGNA.Innovation Network will take place from 27 to 29 September and will offer the woodworking and wood processing industry the opportunity to discuss current industry trends, present innovations and network with interested parties. The LIGNA.Innovation Network consists of the three pillars Expo, Conference and Networking. In the Expo area exhibitors can present themselves with extensive product overviews, Best-case applications or live streams. The Networking function enables all participants in the LIGNA.Innovation Network to get in touch with each other directly. The virtual Conference starts on 27 September and highlights the key topics of LIGNA.
