How can real-time information and networked systems optimize value added within forestry and wood industry value chains?

North Rhine-Westphalia’s "Center of Excellence for Forestry 4.0" project presented answers to these and other burning questions in Pavilion 35. Project partners RIF Institute for Research and Transfer, RWTH Aachen University and the NRW School of Forestry were there with their initial Smart Forest Lab prototype. The lab enabled visitors to assess the potential of Industry 4.0 technologies and gained an understanding of the many aspects of technical implementation involved.
