TH Rosenheim, Holztechnik und Bau
In 2019 the Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH will be represented at the Ligna at the stand of the Hochschule Rosenheim. The two universities are linked by a close cooperation and the joint Master's programme Master Wood Technology.
For more than sixty years, professionals from the wood industry have been gathering their knowledge at the BFH in Biel (Switzerland). Bilingualism and an interesting environment with around 120 employees in research and development create an attractive training location.
Bachelor of Science in Wood Technology: solid and interdisciplinary
The Bachelor's degree in Wood Technology that qualifies students for a profession, covers all forms of processing wood, wood-based materials and combinations of materials.
Master of Science in Wood Technology: consecutive and connected
The timber industry needs highly qualified managers with specialist knowledge and management skills. The Master's programme deepens and expands the knowledge of the Bachelor's basic training. The Master Wood Technology is a cooperation with the Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences (DE) and is unique in Europe.
Higher Technical School of Wood Biel: practice-oriented and versatile
The educational offer of the Higher Technical School of Wood Biel is aimed at professionals from the wood construction, joinery, interior design, wood industry and timber trade.
Research and development: materials, buildings, environment
The four research institutes are consistently oriented towards practice. In close cooperation with industry, the researchers develop innovative solutions for new materials to optimise buildings and serve the built environment. They also use their expertise to support adaptations in connection with digital transformation and for services (accredited testing laboratory, expertise) as well as capacity development in emerging and developing countries.
