By integrating water/water or water/air heat-exchangers into the absorbent cycle of the scrubber it is possible to transfer large amounts of usable heat energy from the exhaust air into a water cycle or air stream. This can reduce the costs of waste gas purification plants and offer interesting depreciation perspectives.
For waste gas purification plants with condensation heat recovery systems, in particular, the heat extraction can result in operating cost reductions for combustion air preliminary heating, process heating or building heating.
With appropriate integration into the local infrastructure the recovered energy may even suplly energy.
A further operational area is the heat displacement by means of gas/gas heat exchangers.
