Product description

Polyurethane coatings have always been the most popular choice for surface finishing: high application flexibility, combined with excellent chemical-physical resistance and visual impact of the painted item, result into valuable products. Sayerlack, a pioneer of new developments, has decided to explore NISO , i.e. isocyanate-free polyurethane coatings.
Such decision is driven by the ambition of developing an alternative technology that delivers the same performance of conventional polyurethane products while replacing isocyanate - which requires precaution during applications and complex labeling - by components with a lower impact: in Sayerlack NISO products, the label bear fewer hazard symbols.
The Not-ISO PU coating system is comprised of a clear basecoat and topcoat.
The TB0200/0 basecoat offers excellent coating and flow, high verticality and extraordinary resistance to temperature variations.
The TN01XX/00 topcoat features excellent consistent opaqueness, leveling and tactile softness. The TJ0300/00 hardener can be used for both products. Tests of the new coating system have revealed exceptional chemical resistance, sometimes even exceeding the excellent standards of traditional polyurethane coating system. This is true, for instance, for pressure whitening tests, light fastness tests and alcohol resistance tests.
The visual quality is equivalent to a typical high-quality polyurethane coating system.
The coating system is available in different matte levels.
One remark about the ethical side of this research project: the identification of raw materials and formulations that result into products with lower and lower toxicity levels proves that also a chemical industrial company can take alternative routes, if they really believe, to safeguard human health and, more generally, to deploy an ethical management of their products.
