Although scrubbers are among the simplest dust arrester, they can be used in a multitude of applications. They do not only serve as dust removers, but are also used as gas coolers (quench), gas scrubbers for noxious gas removal with absorbent substances for the bonding noxious matter.
Because of today's requirements with respect to the clean gas quality and/or the overall energy concept, scrubbers are often combined with other separators.
