Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Rossmann studied electrical engineering at the Universities of Dortmund and Bochum. After graduation, he worked as a research assistant, then as a group leader and finally as a department head at the Institute of Robotics Research at the University of Dortmund. Upon graduation in 1993, he worked as a visiting scholar at the University of Southern California, where he made solid contacts with the US space agency NASA. The work of Prof. Roßmann in the fields of space and industrial robotics, automation technology and virtual reality has been awarded more than 15 different prizes. International recognition received his work by the appointment as visiting professor for robotics and computer graphics at the University of Southern California in 1998. After several stays abroad, he habilitated at the Institute for Robotics Research in 2002. Between March 2005 and March 2006 he was managing director of EFR-Systems GmbH in Dortmund. Since March 2006 he heads the Institute for Human-Machine-Interaction of RWTH Aachen University. Furthermore, he is a member of the board of the Dortmund Institute for Research and Transfer (RIF) as well as managing director of VEROSIM GmbH.
