1. What makes LIGNA so special for you?

LIGNA was the first real fair we attended in Germany. It was in 1975 and it was absolutely crucial for us because it made us know all over the world. We are proud to be one of the few Italian companies in the field to have participated in 25 consecutive editions as exhibitors from the very beginning. Even nowadays, it embraces the top companies and is an unmissable event during which Makor Group has reached a key milestone, that of 50 years of activity in the branch in the course of 2018, receiving a plaque of recognition from the fair organization for the long-standing loyalty demonstrated over the years. During the last edition in 2023 Makor Group was even able to celebrate the 55th anniversary of being an important player in the industry.

2. What was your favourite thing about LIGNA?

Over the decades, LIGNA has proved to be a pivotal meeting point for wood processing industry, attracting more than 80.000 visitors from all corners of the world, creating a global appeal around this market segment and generating a real international community that has been progressively growing edition after edition. The development of new opportunities, the discovery of highly technological innovations and the diversity of the lead actors contribute to making the fair environment surprisingly inclusive and harmonious.

3. What is the funniest/best/surprising thing you have experienced at LIGNA?

Certainly, an event that we will not forget was the party for our 55th anniversary, celebrated during the edition of LIGNA 2023. It was amazing to meet all our collaborators from around the world, and of course customers, and realize how our sales network has grown over the years and how the relationships with the people who represent us in the world are, at the same time, so professional and friendly. It was an event that made us really proud of the work done and a motivation to do even better in the future. A special thanks goes to Tecnolegno, a true high-tech jewel in edge processing. Without their contribution, Makor Group would not have achieved these important milestones.

4. What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome for LIGNA?

One of the most hauling challenges Makor Group faced at LIGNA was undoubtedly the management of time, space and priorities as, with so many visitors, exhibitors, digital presentations and networking opportunities, being able to become lead actors in such a multifaceted context was a difficult test bench to deal with, requiring meticulous planning and remarkable flexibility from the whole team. The continuous updating regarding the latest innovations and technologies introduced during the fair was an extremely challenging but, at the same time, incredibly rewarding turning point for our company. In fact, being able to overcome these important obstacles by winning them allowed us to take the maximum advantage of the fair experience, encouraging the creation of valuable and long-lasting connections in a future perspective.

5. When is a LIGNA a successful LIGNA for you?

For Makor Group, a landmark event like LIGNA is considered to be successful when it manages to achieve several core objectives: it is essential that exhibitors succeed in generating a high level of interest and interaction with the visitors, creating new business opportunities and strategic partnerships; furthermore, a successful LIGNA must offer a stimulating environment for the innovation and the presentation of new technologies or new solutions, allowing participants to stay up-to-date on the latest industry developments and find inspiration for improving their productive activities. The fair has to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences between industry professionals, creating a solid and collaborative network thanks to workshops, conferences and networking sessions that promote the growth and development of the entire wood processing industry.
