Aigner Werkzeuge is Austria’s second-largest manufacturer of machining tools for wood and plastic. Employing a workforce that currently stands at around 80, the company notably produces permanently tipped diamond (PCD), HSS and TC tipped milling tools. It also specializes in customized solutions, such as tool systems for component manufacturing and the associated service packages. Aigner’s latest developments include the Konstantin C181 planing cutter, which it claims can even handle HPL solid core panels.

The new C181 planing cutter can be used with either three or six cutting knives. Given the right operating parameters, customers can achieve milling with outstanding surface quality, coupled with high feed speeds. When used with three cutting knives, dummy knives can also be fitted to ensure the panel stays in place. The maximum infeed for planing with the C181 is 3 millimeters, while the cutter’s diamond knives are designed so users can easily replace them themselves.
