At the end of May 2024, the organizers of the world-leading trade fair for the woodworking and wood processing industry, Deutsche Messe AG, and the VDMA Woodworking Machinery Association, reported an excellent booking status – both in terms of the number of registered companies and exhibition space.

“By the end of the early bird discount period, exactly one year before LIGNA 2025, 80 per cent of the net stand space – based on the total area of LIGNA 2023 – has already been booked for LIGNA 2025’, says Stephanie Wagner, Head of LIGNA at Deutsche Messe. “We also have almost two thirds of the exhibiting companies on board compared to 2023. These figures show that the exhibitors’ commitment to LIGNA remains exceptionally high, even though the industry is currently navigating through difficult times”, added Wagner.

In addition to the market leaders from Germany, Italy, Austria, Turkey, and Spain, there have also been numerous registrations from Asia for the anniversary edition of LIGNA, particularly from China and Japan.

The VDMA Woodworking Machinery Association considers the current booking status of LIGNA and the very good participation of companies in the trade fair to be an extremely important sign of the industry's determination to find a united way out of the crisis. Dr. Bernhard Dirr, Managing Director of the VDMA Woodworking Machinery Association in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, commented, “We are currently at the low point of a severe economic downturn. The unanimous commitment of the registering companies to the upcoming LIGNA highlights the expectation that things will improve by 2025 at the latest and that many new orders will be discussed at LIGNA.”
