The show was organized by Hannover Fairs México, a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Messe based in Hannover, Germany. "We have succeeded in turning MEM Industrial into Latin America's leading show in the woodworking segment," commented Christian Pfeiffer, Deutsche Messe's Global Director LIGNA & Woodworking Shows.

MEM Industrial, which took place on January 22-24 at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City, featured 130 companies and 200 brands from nine countries, whose stands took up over 14,000 square meters of exhibition space. The most complete expo of its kind, MEM Industrial 2020 represented the sector's entire supply chain, from the forestry industry to the applications of Industry 4.0 technology to woodworking and furniture manufacturing, raw materials and accessories.

To shore up the main themes of this year's edition of MEM Industrial, a free program of some 20 conferences, workshops and seminars was organized to promote sustainability and innovation in surface technologies, and help bridging the topic between design and industry.

MEM Industrial 2020 also served as a platform for three award ceremonies related to the aforementioned themes.

Forest Conservation Award

Organized by the National Wood Processing Chamber CANAINMA in cooperation with Hannover Fairs México, the Forest Conservation Award acknowledges the conservation efforts of institutions, individuals and companies.

Furniture Design Award

Targeting architecture, industrial and interior design students, the goal of this award was to promote innovation and close the gap between the student community and furniture manufacturers.

Makers for Good @ MEM Industrial 2020 Makeathon

The Makers for Good @ MEM Industrial Makeathon was aimed at artists, designers, engineers and creative talents from all kinds of disciplines, who were asked to design items of furniture using 3D modeling and digital manufacturing processes.

The next MEM Industrial will run from 20 to 22 January 2021 at the Centro Citibanamex convention center in Mexico City.
