Jowat will be demonstrating the contribution that modern adhesives can make to sustainable manufacturing processes and products at the hotspot for the woodworking industry, LIGNA 2025 in Hanover. In line with the focus topic of “Sustainable Production” at LIGNA 2025, the Detmold-based adhesives manufacturer will be presenting its Green Adhesives, an all-round carefree package for sustainable bonding with a focus on renewable raw materials, resource efficiency and user and consumer protection.
Bio-based Surface Glue and high-performance PUR hotmelt aAdhesives
One highlight is the new Jowacoll GROW 125.00 surface adhesive, which is 30 percent biobased (in accordance with ISO 16620-4) and is designed for easy processing. This dispersion adhesive is designed to enable furniture suppliers to achieve ambitious targets for the proportion of renewable raw materials as economically as possible. In addition to the extensive range of adhesives with measurable bio-based content, Jowat promotes the use of recyclates and offers adhesives with mass-balanced raw materials thanks to ISCC PLUS certification. With the mass balance method, renewable raw materials can be added in early production stages and allocated to the adhesives by calculation at the end - thus demonstrably promoting the use of renewable raw materials without changing the technical properties.
Powerful Extensions for Flat Lamination Processes
With the restriction on diisocyanates in force in the EU since August 2023, many processors of PUR hotmelt adhesives have opted for alternatives that do not have to be labeled as hazardous substances and thus improve occupational safety. Jowatherm PUR MR adhesives show that a broad performance spectrum, modern employee protection and high cost-effectiveness can go hand in hand. With Jowatherm PUR MR 609.92 and Jowatherm PUR 609.60, Jowat is presenting two high-performance additions to its successful range for flat lamination processes, which are set to set new standards in terms of performance and cost-effectiveness. These adhesives are characterized by a long open time for time-consuming processes and a high initial strength, which means that even high-tension materials such as laminates, thick thermoplastic films or thick veneers can be bonded securely.
Edgeband Adhesives for Harsh Conditions
With Jowatherm PUR 608.10, the range now includes an edge bonding adhesive for tough conditions: This powerhouse has enormous hot tack and initial strength and is therefore not affected by high ambient temperatures in production. According to its developers, Jowatherm PUR 608.10 can easily cope with demanding conditions in industrial processes, such as those that occur in midsummer.
