German Timber Construction Award
Under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction, Holzbau Deutschland - Bund Deutscher Zimmermeister (Association of German Master Carpenters) is offering the German Timber Construction Award 2025.

The German Timber Construction Prize is awarded to realised buildings and building components which are predominantly made of wood and wood-based materials as well as other renewable raw materials and which exemplify the application spectrum of wood as a building material. The buildings to be submitted should be of high design quality. It is also a prerequisite that they take into account environmentally friendly and resource-saving aspects in terms of sustainability and climate protection. The competition will be held in the categories of new buildings, existing buildings and innovative planning and building concepts.
An independent jury will evaluate the projects submitted. The competition is open to architects, structural engineers and builders as well as timber construction companies that plan, develop and/or manufacture buildings or building systems.
Individuals, working groups, institutions from research, development and teaching or companies and enterprises may also submit projects for the category Components / Concepts.
The German Timber Construction Award is presented every two years. It is considered the most important award for buildings made of wood in Germany. In 2025, the award ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 27 May 2025 at LIGNA in Hannover.
The prize will be presented this year by Klara Geywitz .
