At LIGNA 2019, the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut WKI, will be presenting innovative hybrid materials made from renewable raw resources for applications in the mobility sector and the construction industry, as well as new methods for reutilizing materials from the wind-power industry. Customers from the wood-based materials and automotive industries, from shipping and aviation, and from the railway and wind-power industries can obtain information concerning the possible applications and advantages of renewable raw materials and their recycling. Sustainability through the use of renewable raw materials has formed the focus of the Fraunhofer WKI for more than 70 years. The institute specializes in process engineering, natural fiber-composite plastics, wood and emission protection, quality assurance of wood products, material and product testing, recycling procedures and the utilization of organic building materials and wood in construction.
