The production of SK saw blades and saw blades for wood was originally one of the operations of the former PILANA Hulín plant, whose tradition began in 1934 when it was founded as the ‘First Moravian Factory of Saws and Tools’. Until the beginning of privatisation in 1991, it underwent many organisational changes.
After privatisation in the 1990s, the company was spun off and the independent company ‘PILANA Wood s.r.o.’ was founded. The production facilities and technologies were taken over from the original company and the sales and technical departments were reorganised. With the collapse of the Eastern Bloc, the nature and organisation of sales had to change. Under the new conditions, we also had to modernise our production facilities and technologies so that the quality of our products would meet world standards. We have continuously invested in critical processes such as laser cutting, machine straightening of blade bodies, tooth soldering, saw sharpening and inspection equipment.
