Where waste wood, wood pellets or other flammable materials are stored, reliable detection of sources of danger is needed to prevent fires. The stored materials can ignite themselves or catch fire due to external hot substances – in bunkers as well as in open areas.
To eliminate this risk for operators and the environment, T&B electronic uses an early fire detection system based on an infrared camera.
The infrared cameras in compact or weatherproof housings are aligned to the freely definable sectors of the area to be monitored and continuously measure the temperature distribution at the different positions.
Due to the infrared technology, the measurement result is not influenced by smoke or dust. In case of fire, areas with temperature exceedances are colored red. In this way, the operator immediately recognizes the location of the fire and can initiate fire-fighting measures.
A major challenge here is to distinguish a real fire hazard from an apparent one. This is the only way to rule out false alarms caused by a reflection on a bare surface or a hot exhaust pipe.
Our powerful system distinguishes within seconds whether there is a real fire hazard. Only then does it trigger the alarm.
