ErgoTak, the automation specialist from Baldone in Latvia, is looking forward to presenting a clever innovation at its first appearance at LIGNA in Hanover: the new ErgoSticks automatic stick applicator.

With its fully automatic stick application technology, the ErgoSticks module is set to usher in a new era of efficiency in timber stacking. With an innovative combination of sticks elevator, step feeder and roller applicator, ErgoSticks is designed to ensure perfect sticks separation and precise placement. Unlike conventional methods, which rely on manually loaded cassettes, raised platforms and complex reconfigurations, ErgoSticks works completely without manual intervention, according to its developers. It processes stick bundles effortlessly and offers unrivaled flexibility, the Latvians say, as operators can adjust stick spacing and the number of sticks per layer in seconds. This drastically reduces set-up time, lowers labor costs and significantly increases productivity.

The ErgoSticks module is said to be designed to work with inferior sticks and operate seamlessly and at high speed in real-world conditions where stick quality and consistency can fluctuate. The intuitive, user-friendly interface allows operators to easily fine-tune parameters, while the retrofittable design ensures full compatibility with existing stackers, providing a cost-effective upgrade path to full automation with minimal disruption.

“We are proud to introduce the ErgoSticks to the global woodworking industry at LIGNA 2025,” said Dainis Ozolins, spokesperson for the ErgoTak brand. “This innovation redefines stick application technology by combining full automation, flexibility and ease of use, enabling woodworking stores to work smarter, faster and more efficiently.”
