It was after asking their customers what they really thought of them that the toolsmiths at Wera proudly adopted the title of "tool rebels". More than a few of the respondents described the staff at the screwdriving tool manufacturer as "tool rebels”", primarily because they come up with out-of-the-ordinary solutions but are also pretty cool – and love a bit of rock. To what extent the marketing department was involved in the whole process, we wouldn't like to speculate... However, one thing we do know is that the team at Wera are some of the most creative people out there in the world of top-quality tool production, as their latest solution - "Kraftform Turbo" - proves.

It's fair to say that most people who pick up a screwdriver want to get the job done faster, ideally with a tool that is precise and allows them to tighten fixings really securely, but is also a lot faster than a conventional manual screwdriver. The solution Wera has developed is a switchable planetary gear mechanism. Integrated into the handle, this entirely mechanical turbo function can be switched on and off at the touch of a button and is designed to quadruple screwdriving speed. When the mechanism is deactivated, the screwdriver is perfect for making precise adjustments or applying a high torque to finish tightening or start removing a screw. The steel inner workings of "Kraftform Turbo" are maintenance free and - as you would expect from Wera - have been built to last. Thanks to the Rapidator bit holder, the "Kraftform Turbo" can be used with all conventional ¼-inch hexagon bits for a wide range of screw profiles. The Rapidaptor function also ensures bits can be inserted directly and then easily removed by pushing the sleeve forward, thereby allowing single-handed operation.
