Digital transformation, increasing demands on efficiency and a resource-conserving approach to wood as a raw material as the driving force behind green materials processing - with its focus on current industry topics, LIGNA 2023 in Hannover is arguably the most important trend barometer for the entire wood-based materials industry. "We are offering a lot of new products in this regard and are looking forward to presenting this to the trade audience," commented Uwe Kahmann, Managing Director of Fagus-GreCon, on participating as an exhibitor. "Extensive investments have been made in product developments and our services. This is now paying off for our customers. At LIGNA, we present the right answers to urgent industry questions," he continues.

The further development of the GreCon THICKNESSCONTROL inline thickness measurement system focuses on the constantly increasing demands on measurement technology systems. Even at high production speeds, the robust system enables measurements of almost the entire board. With GreCon GASANALYSER MC, the company also presents its innovative product development for the determination of the formaldehyde emission of wood-based materials. Outstanding features are the significantly shortened test times, the further improved operability and noticeably extended calibration intervals.

The full-area measuring mat scanner GreCon MATCONTROL HF - which is used for measuring basis weight and detecting foreign bodies in the area of particleboard and fiberboard - also offers customers relevant improvements. In terms of efficiency and resource management, the main focus here has been on optimizing operating costs. With the GreCon EDGEINSPECT edge inspection system, the company draws on its many years of expertise in the field of scanner technology. EDGEINSPECT is a system for quality control of furniture edges and door frames that detects defects such as broken edges, missing or too short decorative strips, or breaks in edges.

In preventive fire protection, on the other hand, Fagus-GreCon has continued the digitalization of its product portfolio and, following IDT (intelligent detection technology) at the last LIGNA, is now presenting maintenance-optimized extinguishing with IET (intelligent extinguishment technology). "An important aspect of our digitization plans is the diagnostic properties of our systems in order to detect wear effects and prevent downtime," explains Nils Vespermann, Head of Product Management at Fagus-GreCon. Among other things, the goals are "better planned and shortened maintenance operations, which contribute to increased productivity," Vespermann continues.

Structurally, Fagus-GreCon is also continuing to invest in the expansion of its services. One exemplary component is the newly created position of service advisor. With this, the company expects to provide even closer customer support over the entire service life of the GreCon systems.
