SCM, the competent partner for all areas of modern woodworking from Rimini, Italy, will showcase at LIGNA 2023 in Hannover its new version of the Smart & Human Factory, which will be presented in two different versions for industry and craft and is designed to enable highly individualized, efficient and sustainable production. In addition, numerous innovations for all application areas will be exhibited: from the furniture industry to the window and door industry, from wood construction to carpentry.

Smart & Human Factory for furniture industry and craftsmen

The focus here is on new automated and networked solutions: systems for human-machine interaction, articulated robots, AMR shuttles and digital services with a focus on customer service. Among other things, the LIGNA booth will feature one of the many configurations that the exclusive production system for the furniture industry can take on as needed - in this case, the innovations for optimizing and simplifying processes.

Another attraction is an integrated cell for flexible and customized production from board material to finished furniture. Under the heading "Digital Integrated Woodworking Process," SCM will also present a comprehensive, integrated range of software, MES and digital services to support customers at every stage of the production process, increasing efficiency and connecting offices to the factory.

Wood construction and prefabricated houses

SCM is also dedicating a series of highly specialized solutions to one of the main themes of LIGNA 2023, timber construction, including the innovative high-performance technologies in the field of prefabricated housing from SCM partner Randek, which will be present on the adjacent stand in Hall 13.

Whether it's the new oikos xs CNC joinery system, developed for the production of timber frame walls, trusses, roof trusses and log houses, the new Maestro active beam&wall HMI software, thanks to which controlling and optimizing the production process directly at the machine is now set to become even easier and more intuitive, or the dmc system xl modular calibration fine grinding machine, which can process wall panels made of X-lam/CLT up to a width of 3. 700 millimeters and a thickness of 500 millimeters - all these solutions take account of the LIGNA focus topic "Prefabrication processes in wood construction".

SCM Surface Technologies

Furthermore, SCM will show new solutions for the realization of sophisticated, innovative surface finishing, for example the new laser unit for the dmc system automatic calibrating and fine sanding machines. It ensures three-dimensional marking of parquet, wooden elements, MDF panels to be finished, fiber cement panels and solid surfaces. Thanks to the exclusive "Self-Refilling" replenishment technology, maximum performance is said to be achieved without interrupting the production flow.

Special and classic tooling to round off the range

In addition to solutions for the Smart & Human Factory, highly specialized production methods will not be neglected. For example, the public will be able to experience windorflex in digital mode, the new automatic cell for the entire production of windows and doors, designed to optimize production while maintaining maximum flexibility and machining quality.

SCM's presence at the show will be rounded off by an extensive range of classic yet innovative joinery machines, such as the circular table saws with the revolutionary "Blade off" safety system, which has been highlighted elsewhere here.
