This session will focus on a simple way to implement data in day-to-day business and production. We will begin with a brief review of the current state of the wood industry and identify gaps. Then we will discuss how these gaps can be overcome by implementing a simple, affordable method, leading towards a future proof, data-literate company. In the end, we will go through a few basic but practical examples. Thijs is a young wood industry enthusiast. Since 2012 he has been active in different areas of the wood industry including chemical modification at Accoya, product development in the Dutch joinery industry and several roles at the Swedish furniture giant IKEA. He specializes in wood technology and data analytics. In his current role he is helping IKEA suppliers to integrate data further in their business intelligence and production lines.
