The DFI consists of two flaps on a vertical hinge with a centre bar, which are held open by the normal process flow. When deflagration occurs, the flaps close due to the pressure wave and drop into a latch strong enough to withstand the blast pressure.

Flexible installation options thanks to the fast-closing double flaps. Suitable for installation close to containers and pipe bends, both in horizontal and vertical pipes, depending on the DFI size.
Suitable for a wide range of applications, withstands reduced explosion pressures of up to 1.5 barü of ST1, ST2 and light metal dusts as well as dusts with low minimum ignition energy (MIE).
It has been tested under real-life conditions and exceeds the EN16447 test standard.
The Fike DFI non-return valve for explosion decoupling is now also available in sizes up to DN1000
