Why do we have to wet kraft paper with liquid resin, just to dry it up afterwards using a 40 m long big box of hot air, and then we still have to remove phenol from exhaust fumes?
LET'S THINK DRY
We have developed and industrialized a patented technology to treat surface of kraft papers for HPL and compact HPL with dry phenolic resin, getting a paper ready for High Pressure lamination.
Advantages:
- Very fast production lines in short space: roll-to-roll line at 300 m/min in 26 meters long space
- No liquid resin = nothing to dry = no exhaust fumes = no need of RTO
- No phenolic and no formaldehyde emissions
- No liquid resin = no spills or pollution
- Dry resin = long shelf life, > 1 year
- Dry resin = no need to produce in house: available from all over the world
- Dry resin = no need to produce in house = no resin plant required
- Dry resin = no need to produce in house = no need to handle dangerous liquid raw materials
- Dry resin = limited space required for stock
- No use of gas energy source in production, only electricity
- Efficient on recycled kraft papers
- Lower energy consumption: 0,02 kW/m2 vs. 0,04 kW/m2 of standard impregnation
Shortcoming:
You have to change your mind on every day habits and realize that what everybody has done in the past 90 years may be different in the coming 90s
