The Type LS is a multi-point laser scanner that provides accurate object profiling and 3D measurement of objects. It allows for the measurement of up to 30 precise polar coordinates of the intersection between the laser points and the object. It offers a speed of up to 300 scans per second. The cameras and lasers of the LS operate on the same plane, allowing the LS to be installed vertically, requiring an opening of only 0.5 in (13 mm) on a conveyor. This ease of factory integration sets the LS apart from other laser scanners. By positioning two LS scanners, the full profile of an object smaller than 14 in (356 mm) can be obtained. The Type LS is easy to use and allows direct connection with a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) without requiring a computer or interface equipment. Up to 4 LS scanners can be configured to operate in sync to provide more complete profile readings and profiles of larger objects.
