The special resaw with automatic timber returning system. The multihead sawmill from SERRA is used as a resaw for boards and slats. The benefit against a circular resaw is, that the cutting kerf is much thinner.Because of that less precious wood will be transformed into sawdust, furthermore the power requirement is lower. In contrast to the main sawmill the sawhead is not moving back and forth along the log. Instead of that, the sawhead is static and the logs will be pushed through.Compared to circular resaws with up to 6 mm cutting kerf, this model has a thinner cutting kerf of only 2mm and a bigger cutting width. Therefore this machine has less power requirement. (up to -50%).The MK402 is expandable with additional sawheads, for example MK405 with five sawheads. The merry go round system is useful, if one passage was not enough for a beam. The compact, sturdy construction is necessary to cut also hardwood with an edge length of 420x420mm with unlimited length. The main engine with 11kW of each sawhead grants lower power consumption. The feeding system works by hydraulically powered starrolls which push from above the log. Additionally a hydraulically powered chain conveyor made out of steel grant the right feeding system also while milling heaviest hardwood. The cutting height can be hydraulically adjusted exactly at each sawhead.
