The membrane press exploits the vacuum principle; a flexible membrane is "pulled" against the element to be pressed, creating the vacuum in the part below. Each pressing system consists of a containment tank made of a double frame in electrically-welded sections. Between the two frames, the supporting surface is tightly inserted so as to form the bottom of the tank, The tank bottom and surround are covered with a non-stick film for easy and quick cleaning with removal of any glue residues that could escape during the pressing phases. On the edge of the pressing tank is a system with lever elements which secure and seal the membrane. The lower mock frame features a mechanical levelling system which, when the frame is installed, allows fine point-to-point adjustment so as to ensure the correct flatness of the wooden elements obtained with the press. The electric-electronic control system consists of a governing unit which accommodates the operating commands and monitoring instruments that interface the work parameters during the various work phases. To speed up the work cycle, the fitted vacuum pump is of the double-stage type: the first stage to obtain a high flow rate and low vacuum in the initial suction phase, the second stage with low flow rate and high vacuum (up to 98%). In the maintenance phase, the total flow rate of the pump is around 150 m3/h. The thrust pressure of the membrane on the wood is 9800 kg/m2.The inner working dimensions of the tank or of the thanks are:- Length: 14.40 mt.- Width: 3,38 mt.GLUING DEVICE:The gluing device is of the bridge Cartesian type with fastened ground rail. The system consists of: a steel supporting structure; a translation and transmission system; a hydraulic pumping containment and glue dosing system. The dosing system is contemplated as being 1,6 m wide and is of the type with hold-to-run and controlled by remote control.
