In the past, the air emission limits for process heat plants with an output of 1 - 50 MW were often not clearly specified. With the 2015 Directive 2015/2193/EU (MCP Directive), which was published in 2015, Europe-wide minimum standards were laid down which had to be incorporated into national legislation by December 2017. This process is ongoing or has already been completed in all EU member states.
