Edge sanding on solid wood and MDF doors in furniture and interior design industry is a great challenge in terms of result and effectiveness. Straight or profiled workpiece edges need to be sanded. Constantly changing workpiece sizes are the most common problems in today's manufacturing.
The new ROBA REP edge sander from MB Maschinenbau tackles this task with a new concept. The REP is developed with the aim to sand furniture and interior doors from lot one size with high quality and high throughput. By means of an automatic width recognition, the workpieces are already measured while passing into the machine, resulting in a high speed aggregate psoitioning with the help of servo axes. Thus, the system allows the workpieces to be conveyed at a very small distance to increase throughput. The all-round machining of the workpieces will be executed in combination with a fast material return conveyance.
To protect the edge corners all sanding heads work with a jump automatism.
