T&B spark extinguishing systems detect and extinguish sparks already in the extraction system so that they do not even reach the filter, where they can trigger explosions or fires. This avoids hazards to people and the environment as well as damage to the plant – and at the same time unnecessary production downtime.
Sparks, as well as hot or smoldering particles, can form in the wood industry's machining and processing operations, for example during drying, shredding, pressing, sawing, planing or sanding and other processing steps.
When the dust-laden air is extracted from these machines, the sparks also enter the filter or cyclone. There they can ignite the dust-air mixture and cause a fire or explosion.
To prevent this, certified spark extinguishing systems must be used. These systems reliably detect both sparks and smoldering particles and efficiently extinguish the affected particles with a fine spray without affecting the production process.
Don't risk insurance coverage
Installing a VdS-certified spark extinguishing system ensures that the system is state-of-the-art and meets the highest possible quality standards.
Meanwhile, insurance coverage is only maintained by VdS-compliant spark extinguishing systems. This is because fragmentary protection concepts and non-approved fire protection systems are rejected by most insurers – which is tantamount to denying insurance coverage.
