A new steam age begins – combined heat and power reimagined
The Schmid biomass boiler supplies thermal energy to the downstream “Liquid Salt” steam generator, which produces superheated high-pressure steam and thus drives V8 steam engines for electricity generation. This steam expansion in the piston engine produces an electrical capacity of 150 - 200 kW in the generator. The remaining thermal energy is made available again for the heating network via a condensation system.
The motor-driven electricity generation can be switched on or off as required or to maximize yield. Heat generation can therefore also take place with the motor in standby mode – all with a high level of operational saftey.
