The Transverse High Grader (THG) offers grade scanning technology in a transverse package. THS is a popular and time-tested technology that uses expert image analysis and optimization software combined with the most advanced sensor available today to accurately detect, measure, and classify many types of defects including bow, crook, twist, skip, wane, knots, pith, stains, decay, bark pockets, splits, shakes, and worm holes.
The new Bioluma 6000 series sensor integrates GrainMap technology, XHD color vision and HD laser profiles with bright, white, and cool LED illumination. It collects ultra-high resolution images and precise geometric and grain angle measurements along all four surfaces of the boards, with the highest resolution and fastest sampling rate of any transverse sensor available today. Bioluma 6000 captures the most minute characteristics of the wood and feeds that data to the THG optimizer for analysis and classification.
Implementing THG is simple. It fits smoothly into your existing flow with high lug speeds, no elevation changes, and no hills to climb. From the sensors through the entire grading system, USNR's Transverse High Grader is designed to streamline the process.
