S&F drum chippers and chipping machines are used in many areas of the wood industry (sawmills and biomass power plants) to produce homogeneous wood chips. Drum chippers from the ‘ATH’ series chip round wood, waste wood, cross-cut discs, slabs, splinters, biomass and sawmill waste.
The drum chipper consists of a robust machine housing. The material is fed horizontally by large feed rollers and can be fed by a vibrating conveyor or a belt conveyor. The upper feed roller is attached to the swing arm to adapt to the thickness of the material being fed. This enables a uniform chipping process. The solid steel rotor (depending on size) is fitted with wear plates under the chipper knives to minimise wear, like the screen basket. The clamped chipper knives are easy to access and replace. The machine can be easily serviced on the left or right (depending on customer requirements).
In addition to the solid and robust design, the advantages are the high quality of the wood chips which are produced, the high capacity and a long, low-maintenance service life.
Drum chippers from the ‘ATH’ series are available in many infeed widths and heights and enable material-dependent throughput rates of up to 120 m³/h.
