The run-up to LIGNA 2019 has started
Gearing up for LIGNA 2019, Michael Weinig AG unveiled two world firsts and a whole host of developments at its in-house InTech exhibition. "In Hanover, we will make another big leap with further innovations in all product areas," promised CEO Wolfgang Pöschl.31 Oct 2018
Automation and digitization were among the headline topics at the company's in-house exhibition, including an IT cockpit that demonstrated just how far the company’s Central System Control technology has come. "The roll-out of this competence to the entire Group is progressing rapidly," said Gregor Baumbusch, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. In organizational terms, Weinig is further strengthening the newly created "Automation & Digital Business" unit by expanding the workforce and integrating it more closely into the company.
In terms of planing and profiling technology, the 1000 visitors who traveled from 35 countries to attend InTech also had the chance to see the new Powermat 3000 in action for the first time. The machine has been designed to set new standards through its ease of operation, new jointing technology and monitoring connectivity. The launch of the Powermat 700 Blackline at InTech also marked the start of an attractive, limited special edition. The particularly well-equipped machine is designed primarily to win over customers who have not yet decided to convert their production systems to the latest Weinig generation.
The exhibition was also used as a launch pad for a world first from the Windows product area. The Conturex Artis is positioned below the previous Compact entry-level model, but has added technical value. According to the company, it is the patent-pending "RePos easy" extension system for the Powergrip clamping table that really stands out in this regard. Karlheinz Moldan, head of the Windows product area, described it as "a flexible, high-performance machine for smaller companies as an answer to the consolidation process in the window market." The company has already announced that the next evolutionary stage of the Conturex Artis is to be ready for LIGNA 2019.
