The Bachelor's degree programme in Engineering Education, specialising in construction technology combines technical expertise with pedagogical skills. The course qualifies you to work as a teacher at vocational schools in the fields of wood, construction or colour. Alternatively, you can also work as an engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering degree. The choice is yours and you only have to decide at the end of the programme.
The degree programme is divided into three central areas:
- Vocational specialisation in civil engineering: 150 ECTS (70%)
- Second teaching subject: 30 ECTS (15%)
- Pedagogy and social sciences: 30 ECTS (15%)
Civil Engineering: The focus of the degree programme is on civil engineering subjects. You will attend lectures together with students from the Interior engineering and civil engineering degree programmes, which will provide you with a sound engineering education.
Teaching subject: In addition to the vocational specialisation, you will study a second teaching subject. You can currently choose between wood technology, computer science and German as a vocational language. Particularly unique: The combination of construction technology and wood technology is only available in Rosenheim! The wood technology subject focuses on modern production techniques in the woodworking industry.
Pedagogy: Here you will learn how vocational learning works - whether at vocational school or in the workplace. Initial school internships allow you to try out your role as a teacher. In courses such as ‘Professionalisation of teachers’, you will further develop your communication and social skills. Modern educational technologies such as explanatory videos and virtual reality are also part of the programme - you don't just experience them; you use them yourself.
