HIMMEL® drum motors are used to drive stationary or transportable conveyor belts to transport a wide variety of bulk goods; they are also used in beltless transport systems. Thanks to its space-saving design and good adaptability to given operating conditions, the HIMMEL® drum motor has opened up more and more areas of application in drive technology. It has been used with great success in many areas of conveyor technology for decades. HIMMEL® drum motors are designed in such a way that the electric motor and the reduction gear are housed inside the drum shell, thus forming a closed drive unit that is largely protected against external influences. Ample dimensioning of the individual parts ensures a long service life even under harsh operating conditions. State-of-the-art manufacturing methods ensure low-noise operation and high efficiency. The clamping journals on both sides are flattened and enable simple and time-saving installation using two-part clamping bearings. The power supply from the control box to the built-in electric motor is provided for all drum motors through the hollow shaft clamping journal; the mains connection is made on the fixed terminal board, as with normal electric motors. Alternatively, the HIMMEL® drum motors can also be designed with a cable. As there are no moving transmission elements subject to wear (slip rings, brushes), the power supply requires no maintenance. HIMMEL® drum motors are manufactured in a completely enclosed design, dust-tight and protected against water jets with protection class up to IP69k. They are therefore suitable for use outdoors and in dusty or damp rooms.
