The Pinomatic Wood Vision is a wood optimising and grading system that scans on four sides in a longitudinal direction. The operation of the equipment is based on the use of cameras, laser projectors and an intelligent computer program, all of which work together.
The scanner is capable of recognising any defects that it is possible to see with modern camera and laser technology; such as knots, cracks, pith, resin pockets, wane, blue stain, decay, compression wood and dimension faults etc.
The Pinomatic Wood Vision's software is based on twenty years of experience with, and professional knowledge of, scanner technology.
One basic principle which was applied to the planning of the new equipment was a clear program structure in order to achieve the required ease of use.
With the scanner it is possible to increase production capacity, replace chalk marking stations, and take total advantage of the maximum speed of the machines on the production line. Scanner grading also guarantees consistent and reliable grading results.
The Pinomatic Wood Vision scanner system can be used for quality control in areas such as on cross-cutting saw and planer/moulder lines, as well as in other targets where the pieces move in a longitudinal direction.
